Vinclozolin
From
Summary
Vinclozolin is a common fungicide used in vineyards.
It has been claimed by Michael Skinner and the Environmental Working Group that vinclozolin acts as an endocrine disrupter with multigenerational effects.
On August 30, 2010, the federal Office of Research Integrity found that Hung-Shu Chang of Washington State University engaged in research misconduct by falsifying data in a study reporting multigenerational effects caused by vinclozolin. See Federal Register, August 30, 2010, 53303-53304.
Michael Skinner was the principal investigator of the study.
The discredited study is: Chang HS, Anway MD, Rekow SS & Skinner MK. Transgenerational epigentic imprinting of the male germline by endocrine disruption exposure during gonadal sex determination. Endocrinology 147(12):5524-5541.
